Dr. Durga Prasad Reddy B is currently working as Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeon at Vydehi Hospital is most renowned for successful heart transplantations. Holding hands with the Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Dr. Reddy operated on a number of hearts and gifted a new life to the patients. The surgeon operated on more than 50 Down Syndrome children for congenital heart disease from west Africa and performed surgery on the least weight (1.8 KG) baby for complex congenital heart disease. Along with training young minds as Professor and Head of Vydehi Institute of Cardiac Sciences, Bangalore, Dr. Reddy is passionate about serving the needy. The man who believes in early detection and preventive care also conducted many successful screening camps at the National as well as International levels. Dr. Durgaprasad Reddy has also designed single patch closure for AV canals without using a bridge.
Along with this, the doctor has invented concomitant procedures for coronary artery and peripheral artery disease that have remarkably reduced the financial burden and the number of days of ICU/Hospital residence of the patient.
