The Critical Care Medicine unit in Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre is one of the top intensive care facilities in East Bangalore.

Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a closed unit manned by well-trained intensivists who can handle patients with all kinds of critical emergencies, with 24/7 support from specialists and experts across various departments providing timely and case-specific technical advice. The Department is staffed with highly qualified, experienced critical care specialists who are well-equipped to handle any medical/surgical cases, skilled in providing life- sustaining interventions.

Lead consultant/Head, Department of Critical care Medicine

Dr.Menaka is the lead consultant and Head of the department of critical care medicine at Vydehi hospital. She has a pivotal role in setting up intensivist manned closed ICU setting in our institution. With nearly 2 decades of experience in this field she is well equipped in handling any critical patient.

We are proud in stating that she has handled nearly 4000 cases during her period of stay with us with a very good patient outcome and family feedback.

Expertise in managing all medical, surgical cases requiring intensive care and skilled in all procedures related to patient care. She has a Professional Experience of 17yrs and skilled in managing all medical, surgical critical cases, ultrasound guided arterial, central line placement, PICC insertions, Percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy, Emergency FON access, ICD insertions, pleural Pigtail catheter insertions, Ultrasound guided peripheral nerve blocks, Labor Analgesia, BLS and ACLS service provider.
