The Department of TB & Chest diseases is also known as Respiratory Diseases or Pulmonary Medicines.
The consultants/specialist are called chest physicians, or Respiratory Physicians or Pulmonologist.
The Department deals with diseases of respiratory system (nose, throat, windpipe, lungs, chest wall etc)
We work as a team of 6 doctors in our department everyday from 9am-4pm, giving outpatient services (OPD), inpatient services (wards), acute care (serious patients) and ICU care.
Symptoms
We diagnosis and treat various diseases e.g. Pneumonia, T.B, bronchial asthma, Bronchitis, Eosinopilia etc.
We provide test to diagnosis lung T.B, i.e. sputum (Phlegm) free of cost and provide medicines to treat T.B anywhere in the body free of cost for full 6-8 months in our department.
We give total care so that each human being breaths comfortably all through day and night, at any situation in workplace, at home, outdoors, during sleep, during air travel.
OPD Services
We function in OPD daily
Monday-Friday : 9am to 4pm
Saturday: 9am to 1pm
We examine and treat patients who have any of the following complaints: cough, sputum (phlegm) production, difficulty in breathing (breathlessness), wheezing, blood in phlegm, chest pain, chest tightness, weight loss, etc.
A. Various diseases diagnosed and treated in our Department
Occupational related lung Disease: 1.Air cooler/ Air Condition, 2.Dust – Construction site 3.Garment Factory 4.Mines 5.Factory – exposure to dust, fumes, smoke 6.Poultry 7.Farming, etc
Sleep related breathing problems (snoring)
Screening for lung cancer
Obesity related breathing problem
Stress related breathing problem
B. We give acute care (emergency) in severe/serious breathlessness, cough etc. i.e. severe asthma, severe bronchitis, respiratory failure (lung failure) etc.
C. Where-ever necessary we provide ICU care.
D. We assess the functional status of respiratory system (breathing capacity) in:
Pre- employment
Pre – surgery/operation
In various diseases
In smokers
As general check up
E. Free availability of test i.e. sputum (phlehm) for diagnosis and follow up in lung T.B by specially trained technician Free availability of medicines for T.B for full course 6-8 months
F. We teach breathing exercises, physiotherapy for lungs where-ever necessary
