Heart issues are quite common nowadays. Our routine habits, as well as the environmental conditions, are contributing to heart-related problems. K Nagaraju, a 32-year-old patient from Andrapradesh, was diagnosed with end-stage heart failure with dilated cardiomyopathy. He was struggling with the CRT pacemaker and consulted the Vydehi Institute of medical sciences and research center for the best treatment. He registered for heart transplantation. As he was HbsAg reactive, he awaited a suitable donor.
On 30th November 2022, in Mysore, the matching donor was found. The team of cardiac surgeons successfully harvested the heart, which was brought to the Vydehi Institute of medical sciences and research center within the span of two hours. The cardiac surgical team headed by Prof Dr. Durgaprasad Reddy performed the heart transplant surgery. The dedicated team managed the postoperative period along with the help of cardiologists and gastroenterologists. The Patient is doing well and is ready for discharge. Thanks to the advanced medical technology at Vydehi Institute of medical sciences and research center and Prof Dr. Durgaprasad Reddy and his team for the successful heart transplant surgery.
