80% of total OPD coming to Vydehi Institute of Dental Sciences & Research Center report to the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics for Dental Caries, non carious lesions, and root canal treatment. They are the commonly occurring dental disease which needs to be treated at the earliest for relieving pain food lodgment and hypersensitivity.
Traumatized teeth and deep carious lesions are treated with root canal treatment there by conserving every bit of tooth as the department’s name implies.
Secondly our branch deals with providing esthetics. Patients with broken and discolored teeth are treated with tooth colored material to restore esthetics. Other esthetic treatments like bleaching, veneering, ceramic crowns are also done.
Minor Surgical procedures to save anterior teeth from being extracted and replaced are carried out under strict aseptic conditions. Single visit root canal treatments are carried out under strict aseptic conditions. Single visit root canal treatment are carried out when indicated.
Surgeries like hemi section, bi cuspidisation are performed in collaboration with other departments. The main goal of the department is to conserve and preserve the tooth to its natural form esthetic, function.
The department provides restoration of decayed teeth.

We hope to perform super speciality cases with commencement of Post Graduate Course.
Department has all Electrical chairs with motorized suction with sensored lights for infection control. Intra oral X-ray machine, with intra oral camera and RVG. All root canal treatments are performed in 1 – 2 sitting with all latest rotary endodontic equipment. Department has specialized equipments as pulp tester, theromofill obturator kit, magnifying loop. We have well equipped CASTING lab for inlays, onlays and temporary crowns.
All the procedures are done under strict aseptic conditions. Department has special autoclave for sterilization of handpeice, burs, endodontics instruments. All the specialized treatments are performed by specialist and students are given minor cases under strict supervision by the faculty.
