Event Summary – LYMPHOVISTA: Expanding Perspectives in Lymphomas
The LYMPHOVISTA: Expanding Perspectives in Lymphomas Continuing Medical Education (CME) program was successfully conducted on 8th August 2026 at the Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Bengaluru, under the aegis of the Department of Pathology. The CME was organized with the objective of providing an updated and comprehensive understanding of lymphoma diagnosis and management, while fostering meaningful interaction between pathology and oncology. The program was inaugurated by the Principal, VIMS and RC, Dr. Shreedhar Venkatesh.
The scientific program featured a series of expert-led academic sessions addressing important contemporary aspects of lymphoma. The program commenced with a session on “Approach to Lymphoma Diagnosis”, followed by an interdisciplinary session on “From Tissue to Therapy: What the Oncologist Needs from the Pathologist in Lymphoma,” highlighting the crucial role of accurate pathological diagnosis in guiding therapeutic decisions. Further sessions focused on nodal T-cell lymphomas and B-cell lymphomas, providing participants with insights into the diagnostic approach and evolving understanding of these diverse entities.
The CME brought together distinguished faculty with expertise in pathology, hematopathology and medical oncology. The faculty included Dr. Sumeet Gujral, Professor and Honorary Consultant at ACTREC, Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai; Dr. Manjunath Nandennavar, Professor, Department of Medical Oncology, Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre; Dr. Sandeep Rao, Director of Laboratory Services and Senior Consultant in Hematopathology at Triestas Sciences, Unit of HCG; and Dr. Komal Chippalkatti, Consultant Pathologist at Cytocare Hospitals, Bengaluru.
A major highlight of the program was the Interactive Slide Seminar, conducted in the afternoon by Dr. Sumeet Gujral. The session provided an opportunity for participants to engage with challenging and diagnostically difficult lymphoma cases, encouraging practical application of morphological and diagnostic concepts discussed during the CME. Participants interested in presenting challenging cases were invited to bring their slides and participate in the interactive discussion.
The scientific sessions emphasized a multidisciplinary and clinically relevant approach to lymphoma bringing together around 200 delegates including pathologist, oncologist, postgraduate students, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, bridging tissue diagnosis with therapeutic decision-making and reinforcing the importance of effective communication between pathologists and oncologists.

The CME concluded with a valedictory ceremony and high tea, marking the successful completion of an academically enriching program. Overall, LYMPHOVISTA served as an excellent platform for enhancing knowledge and diagnostic competency in lymphomas, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and encouraging continued learning in the rapidly evolving field of hematopathology and oncology.
