What Makes Mako Different?
Mako is not an autonomous robot—the surgeon remains in control throughout the procedure. A CT scan creates a 3D model of the patient’s anatomy, enabling an individualised surgical plan. During surgery, haptic boundaries help the surgeon execute the plan while helping protect surrounding soft tissues.

With the introduction of the Mako Robotic System, Vydehi Hospital is taking an important step towards making advanced orthopaedic technology more accessible in Bengaluru.
Vydehi is proud to be the first medical college in Bengaluru to introduce Mako for all three major applications—Total Knee, Partial Knee and Total Hip Replacement—on a single platform.
The programme is being introduced with a strong focus on affordability, with planned pricing at less than 50% of the cost at nearby hospitals.
