Body Mists

These are quick remedies for dry skin. They can keep your skin hydrated throughout the day. Just spraying plain water will make your skin dry and tight. Hence adding the moisturizing agent to the water can help create natural moisturizers or body mists.

Hibiscus-rose water spray is an excellent natural winter moisturizer that is helpful if you have sensitive and dry skin. In order to prepare it, boil 4-5 Hibiscus flowers in a water bowl. Then add a few drops of rose water and put it in a spray bottle. Use it throughout the day.

Tulsi and Honey

Tulsi or Basil leaves have numerous beauty advantages. It is high in Vitamins, Electrolytes, Minerals, and Phytonutrients(plant nutrients). Tulsi consists of vital oils which will nourish and moisturize your skin. Honey contains anti-inflammatory, hydrating, and therapeutic effects, which will help cure dryness. 

To prepare this natural ingredient, take tulsi leaves along with water and make a paste of it. Then add a teaspoon of honey to it. Apply this paste to your skin, leave it for 15 minutes and then wash it with warm water. 

Malai and Masoor Dal Face pack

Facial skin is much thinner and more sensitive than the skin on other body parts. Therefore your face needs greater care in winter. Malai – Masoor dal paste face pack is beneficial if you have dehydrated skin. Masoor Dal improves your skin health and removes dead skin cells. 

Take one teaspoon of malai and one and a half teaspoons of powdered masoor dal. Mix both of them and then apply them to your face. Keep it for 15 minutes, and then wash it out. 

Jojoba oil

The moisturizing property of Jojoba oil will help your skin to retain water and prevent dryness. It also has anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. After having a bath, apply it all over your body. This will cure dryness, redness, flakiness, itchiness, and other skin problems. 

Besides this, coconut oil, Almond oil, and Argan oil are some excellent oils you can use in winter.

Lifestyle changes to incorporate for healthy skin

Avoid long showers

Having a long hot water bath is a fantastic feeling in winter. But you should avoid doing it as hot water deprives your skin of its oil. Instead, take a bath in lukewarm water for less time. Also, use light soaps and avoid strong soaps, which can dry off the skin. 

Keep yourself hydrated

You will generally feel less thirsty in winter and drink less water. Unfortunately, this will also affect your skin. Therefore, keeping yourself hydrated is as important as using natural remedies to hydrate your skin. 

Create a moist environment inside your home

Humidified air plays a crucial role in keeping your skin from being dried. Use humidifiers inside your home to keep the environment moist. This will help your skin in retaining moisture.

Consume certain foods to enrich your skin

Include fruit juices, milk, buttermilk, coconut water, etc., in your food diet. Make sure you eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin C. You can also take foods that are rich in antioxidants. 

Wear proper winter clothing

Along with all these remedies, ensure you cover yourself with proper winter clothing. This protects your skin from cold winds and keeps it warm. Some clothes you need to wear are coats, sweaters, boots, caps, gloves, mufflers, and ear covers.
